Synopsis

Stanley Baker as tough detective assigned to the new controversial (because it is deemed being soft on crime) Young Offender Liaison Officer unit. Gets involved with a couple of young kids and their parentless family - the older brother being a gang leader and firebug and the older sister providing the romantic interest

Set in Liverpool on a real location problem estate that had gone downhill since built in the 30s. Good story, although Stanley Baker's conversion from "lock em up" to "look after them" seemed a bit sudden. Interesting locations. Excellent child actors playing the young twins. Peter Cushing as the RC priest.
