Synopsis

Jewel thief (Delon) released from prison is given details of a possible complex heist by a guard. After stealing money from his former boss he goes on the run and crosses paths with a small-time gangster who has escaped from custody. His ex-boss's men catch them, they escape but loose the money so decide to do the heist. They recruit a corrupt ex police marksman who is essential to the success. The robbery is executed perfectly but in the aftermath the police catch up with them by using the ex-boss.

Classic french cops and robbers in american film noir/gangster style. Very good. Initially I was confused by the similarity in appearance of Alain Delon (the jewel thief) and Gian Maria Volonte (the gangster)
