Only on briefly looking at the special feature interview with the director did it become clear that Leos Carax is an incoherent gibbon hiding behind dark glasses and a gallic stubble making gnomic remarks to a sycophantic interviewer and that there is simply no point at all to this dull and uninteresting, either as art or as narrative, mess of a film.
