Synopsis

Climber found dead at foot of cliff, no witnesses. Therefore an investigation is needed. Widow, a chinese immigrant, seems strangely unmoved. Detective is intrigued and starts to observe her. Obsessively. Sidekick is convinced she did it somehow, but detective demurs. She produces evicence of suicide. eanwhile in another thread the detective and sidekick are hunting down a gangster wanted for murder. In a third thread we see the detective's relationship, apparently good, with his wife who lives and works in another town and they have a weekend relationship.

Incredibly stylishly shot with some confusing elements it is somewhere between a crime drama, a filn noir and a romantic film.

Full review

Haunted by his unresolved cases the star detective gets sucked in to a relationship with a suspect that ultimately will bring no closure.

Complete with comedy sidekick and apparaently inspired a Sjowall and Walhoo book we get a bit of police procedural but it is becoming obsession as the Martin Beck figure falls for the mysterious chinese woman.

Very stylishly shot with a creative use of mobile phones embedded into the storyline, and drawing on many different elements of detective, noir, romantic, mystery genres this is clearly an excellent film even when you are not quite sure what is going on.
