Synopsis
Fur trappers in NW USA, attacked by Indians, retreating to base as the winter closes in their navigator has a fight with a bear, badly mauled and abandoned with two men and his half caste indian son to watch him die and give him a decent burial. The men kill the son and bury him alive but he survives and returns to hunt them down

Extraordinary tale, Leo di C grunts his way masterly through it. Sometimes a bit OTT (can you really survive an extended swim in an icy river and emerge to make a fire (how) and your clothes and furs be dry by morning)
