OK, if slightly troubling, for the first section in California and the flight. It should have ended when they ran out of petrol, but each of them gets miraculously reborn and the tale loses its way

Review of "New Finnish Grammer"

An excellent mediation on the nature of self as defined by memory and language. Plus a commentary on how reality is an artificial construct as illustrated by the sections written by the doctor - the book is presented as the doctor's recovery of the sailor's journal of his time in Finnland.
