Review of "Into the Wild"

McCandless is a really interesting story and seeker. The account is well written and researched and gives a believable picture of what happened and why. (See also the fictionised film directed by Sean Penn)

Review of "History of the Rain"

Full of literary quotes and references and slightly self consciously poetic form of writing but none the worse for it. Very much in the style of Irish literary writing which I enjoy. (Booker 2014 longlist)

Enjoyed reading it, slightly convoluted romance thread but the descriptions of the elephants and their relationships with each other and man very compelling.
