Review of "Salt of the Earth"

Extraordinary B&W photography would have made this stunning on ots own, but the story of the man's life and work including the return to his roots and recreating the forest which had been destroyed to pay for his and his sister's education and thus bring life back to the paradise he inhabited as a child make it a real tour de force.

Review of "Carol"

The film was actually quite good, the weird thing was that it was presented on the DVD as being a 'gay' film with interminable trailers for other 'gay' films, mostly looking pretty naff.

Review of "All About Eve"

A very wordy and literate script which perhaps could have benefitted from a bit of lightening - when every line is perfect it all seems a bit the same. Nice twist at the end as another start struck wannabe gets her claws out in turn
