A young boy l(also about 12) iving in the village sees them arrive and goes to meet his dad and brother, Dan, who have been out crab fishing. Next day Dan is starting a job at the mine which might be reopening.

The the exec is having a meeting at the hotel an old man turns up and warns him that no good will come of the mine as it is owned by the devil..The girloverhears this.

Meanwhile the boy has an encounter with a ghostly boy on the cliffs in the sea mist, the ghost utters some mysterious words and eads him to the churchyard where a gravestone tells us that he died in the mine 100 years earlier.
