very good read - makes it clear from the begining where it will end, but manages to keep you reading along.

Surprisingly un- explicit, story told as first person narration within a framing device (waiting for the tide to turn) but we never get to know Kurtz or what he has been doing at all - everything by allusion and hints, the dying "The horror, the horror" words are left entirely to the reader's imagination to fill in (room 101?)
